A room wrapped in oak
Kosh Coffee is a small coffee shop where one material does almost all the work. Undulating oak panels run around the room like a folded screen, turning a plain rectangular space into something soft and enveloping.
The wave of the walls continues into the furniture. Round oak tables stand on thick split legs, and built-in benches with felt cushions follow the perimeter, so guests sit with their backs to the warm wood.
Light from above
Black conical pendants hang low over each table and set an even rhythm across the room. Above the panels, a curved plaster cornice softens the line where the wood ends and lets the ceiling feel higher than it is.
The counter is kept quiet and pale, in the same tone as the stone floor, so the coffee bar reads as part of the architecture rather than a separate piece of equipment.
